Hey Friend, I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Heather Chesiyna, the founder of Truth Cove.

As I begin, I want to stress that the name Truth Cove is not a coincidence or a haphazard decision. It actually has a deep significance to me and took years in the making!

Names are super important!

In the Bible, there are countless stories of people whose names represent a shift in perspective or a change of heart. Abraham became “Abraham” (meaning father of many) when God promised him great blessings and descendants as numerous as the stars. Jacob wrestled with an angel at Peniel, becoming “Israel,” which means “contended with God.”

So I stress, that Truth Cove is not a haphazard decision; I believe it signifies a new shift in my life.

What inspired the name?

The company was inspired by a beautiful photograph I acquired in June 2013. The photograph is of the Cove Point Lighthouse located on the Chesapeake Bay.

This lighthouse is particularly special to me because it reminds me of Matthew 5:14-16, which says,

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine for all to see”.

The meaning of Cove

Another beautiful thing is the actual meaning of a “cove”…

  • Narrow entrance: A “cove” is a sheltered area of the coast with a narrow entrance, much like the way Jesus talked about the narrow path in Matthew 7:14 that leads to life. This narrow path brings us to a place of refuge and restoration.
  • Very calm and tranquil: The water in a cove is usually calmer and more tranquil than in an open ocean, much like how Jesus can provide us shelter from the storms of life when we seek Him. It also symbolizes a place of refuge, and I believe it accurately reflects the kind of shelter and safety Jesus provides when we seek His presence.
  • Passageways: A cove is scientifically called a “concordant coastline” formed when the sea levels rise and create a narrow path between two points, creating a passageway! This reminds me of Isaiah 43:15-16 to the fact that God makes passageways… “I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.”
